Invisible Presence! Or COMING? Which?

I spoke to the elders in the local congregation after writing to the Wt. I showed them Matt. 24:26-27 and asked if it was likely that Christ had chosen Pastor Russell when he had proclaimed Christ's invisible presence as starting in 1874. (Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose 1959 Page 18/23) Which they now know is false according to their chronology. In the preceding verses "look! Here is the Christ, or, There! do not believe it," This sounds like what Pastor Russell had done. The verse then says ".. so as to mislead if possible, even the chosen ones." and he did want other christians to proclaim this false presence as well. Having seen once the invisible presence and being mistaken and now with the new understanding, realizing that Matt 24:30 was in the future and having proclaimed that this too had been seen with the eyes of faith when in fact it hadn't. Is it possible that they could be totally mistaken on the whole of Matthew 24. The Society never answered my letter and the Elders said it wasn't important. This teaching has led to millions of people who claim christianity but are not in the new covenant and some who may have lost faith in Christ altogether as dates have come and gone with no end in sight.

God and Suffering
by AK - Jeff ina few weeks back, in the midst of the haiti tragedy, much discussion took place in cyberland about the tolerance [or indeed the insistence on] suffering by a loving god.
the furor over haiti has settled a bit [as unfortunately most tragedy is wont to do far too quickly in the human mind], but this persistent matter continues to chew at my subconscience.
today i came across this:.

Can you prove that Satan doesn't exist, if you can't is it worth the risk of mocking him?

It seems to me that sometimes people who don't believe in God want to argue as if he is real. That seems silly. I believe in God and have good reason too. God is not one to be mocked.

I dont mean to sound callous, but we all die and all suffering only ever exists in our heads. (take away our senses and there is no suffering) God has provided a way out of suffering and death through the sacrifice of his son. Who wants to lose a child for ones enemies which we all became with the sin of Adam.

What it means if JW's are wrong??????
by omerp inthe jehovah's witness are notorious for ranting about their favourite religion to pick on and that is the catholic church.
my question is, if they are false.
prophets, etc... then what they said about the catholic church should be suspect also.

I think that JWs are not christian. They should reconsider there baptism and take the bread and the wine and they should reconsider their hope. Being good won't do it. Nor will preaching about the return of christ and them as the chosen ones. Christendom for all of its faults, is christian.

I do miss some elements of being a Witness. I was raised as one and spent many hours at the hall. Not everything that is taught is wrong. Some of the people if not most are decent hard working people who want to serve God. I cannot agree with most of the teaching and so I do not attend. I'm tired of discussing scriptural points with elders who will sometimes not even read the Society's publications. But on occasion i can be found in the audience at the Hall listening and thinking on whether the points discussed are valid. On these occasions the Witnesses for the most part are friendly.
